My Story

Sixteen years ago, I developed a severe pain on my left side right under my rib cage. I made an appointment with my primary doctor with the hopes of getting to the root of my dis-ease. I was given a prescription for the pain and booked to see a line of specialists. I underwent many tests including MRI's, CAT scans, you name it, I had it done to me! No one and nothing was able to give me an answer for my condition. Meanwhile, my pain grew worse. My doctor’s last resort was to send me to a renown Gastro Endocrinologist. I arrived to my appointment convinced that my problem would finally be discovered. I was put under for 30 to 45 minutes for an Endoscopy exam. It was all to no avail. The tests all came back normal.

At this point, I found myself extremely exhausted from the run around and growing in pain. Not only was I still dealing with the pain in my side, but I also developed an impacted anal cavity, due to the severe constipation my prescription caused. I was called in for another appointment with the Endocrinologist. I was examined physically by the doctor. He examined my stomach and back by applying gentle pressure with his hands, it was like someone kneading dough; however, he still was unable to find anything. Before that appointment ended, I had to endure the dreadful experience of a physical anal cavity examination, in front of an observing nurse! The whole experience left me feeling invaded to the highest extent, only to receive the news that nothing could be found! I knew the endocrinologist was honestly doing everything he could to help me. I could see the disappointment on his face after he left the room. Unfortunately, I left that office feeling very discouraged, with no hope, and still in pain!

After sometime, I came across an Indian health magazine that was left behind in a restaurant. Out of curiosity, I began to flip through the pages. I fell upon a page that had an article about an Indian Doctor who prescribed cabbage soup to his patients in a private Indian hospital . The article specified that the doctor recommended cabbage soup for seven days before even seeing his patients. I decided to give this cabbage soup thing a try. I made a huge batch of cabbage soup and began to eat it daily. In just three days, to my surprise, I was able to use the bathroom and the pain in my side subsided. By the fifth day, the pain I experienced was totally gone!

I went on to learn about the science behind cabbage. I found that cabbage is an excellent source of several types of phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamin k, vitamin c, vitamin B6, B2, B1, potassium, folate, and much more. Phytonutrients in cabbage are converted by the body into isothiocyanate molecules, which contain remarkable detoxification and anti-cancer properties. The dis-ease I was experiencing all those months was due to insufficient antioxidant assimilation which compromised the oxygen metabolism in my body and subjected me to oxidative stress (inflamed tissues). My symptoms disappeared because my cells were replenished of the much needed micronutrients.

My personal health experience inspired my passion to further study and understand the science behind herbs, nutrition , and natural health modalities. I was privileged to spend 10 years working in a local herb shop. My hands on training allowed me to gain immense herbal knowledge. My biggest surprise, was discovering that there is an herb for absolutely EVERYTHING! I found helping people obtain their health through herbal remedies to be very fulfilling.

My passion has now taken a more devoted direction to my clients through health coaching. My goal through health coaching is to educate people on how their body works and the role that nutrition, detoxification, herbs and supplements, play in their healing. I strongly believe that anyone can heal and recover from any dis-ease with the use of natural modalities.
